from A STRANGE WILD SPOT
[a wild spot we language]
a wild spot we language
forty words gone to laughter in mud and sand
we found eloquence
columned mists of perfume
the woods of shoes turned wise in the island’s last resort
soles with sideways step true and made brave and
not a change no eye
would read any depravement in another
at this ball four hundred souls but now
a change from wavelets to waves to gulfwall cave
the wild harp of unsuspecting
a tarp of clouds conceives the storm and now
a change so free the knot spun in the Mexic sea
the strange knoteye drags but not a change
[however, heard]
